Ray was a wonderful husband, we met quite by chance - I was swinging on the gate of a farm in the wilds of Exmoor - he rode up on a horse with the mist swirling, (bit Heathcliff perhaps ) - always swirls in or on Exmoor I’m told - anyway I was there chilling, supposedly writing a play - pretentious moi? Never did of course but certainly hopped on a horse to join him. Both keen - the horse and ‘us’ .... sooo these two oldies married and against all odds had great fun for the next 25 years. Rode horses, had puppies, travelled to breathtaking places, ummm drank lots of wine, ate fantastic food and made lots of lovely friends. What an unlikely pair everyone thought BUT perfect really. I’ll miss him so much.
